John Corbett
Vice-President, Client Services

John is a qualitative and quantitative researcher of more than 25 years experience, and is one of Canada’s foremost experts in large project management. Other areas of expertise are public policy, tourism and human resources research.

John uses a combination of innovative qualitative practices and rigourous quantitative methodologies to not only describe the scope of an issue, but to understand the underlying causes and effects.

"I believe we can learn more by studying behaviour than attitude; by studying what has happened and projecting it into the future, rather than trying to assess what might happen through the lens of what respondents think they perceived."

John was principal of his own firm, Corbett Communications, for 10 years and, prior to that, was Vice President at Research Dimensions, a full-service Canadian research firm. Before that, John was Senior Consultant at Gallup Canada and Senior Project Director at Ruston/Tomany & Assoc.

John helps client manage very large research needs and draws actionable conclusions based on firm data. Clients value John’s clear writing style, his animated presentation skills and his ability to synthesize and communicate complex ideas through the use of thought experiments, metaphor and comparisons with existing data.

John was educated at Lakefield College School and Bishop’s University, and is a Certified Market Research Professional (CMRP) and Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society (FRSS).
